Saints Row 4 Australian release date set for September
Local distributor All Interactive Entertainment has locked down Saints Row 4's Australian release date, which as expected has been shunted into next month, about three weeks behind the rest of the world.
The Australian version, which has been censored to meet local content guidelines, will go on sale on September 12 for PC and Xbox 360, and September 19 for PlayStation 3.
"Despite every effort being made to keep the release date in line with the rest of the world, the production process meant that a delay was unavoidable," AIE said in a press release.
"We have used every means at our disposal to minimise the delay, but unfortunately it just was not possible to keep the same street date as the rest of the world," director Robert Kingston said in a statement, acknowledging the likelihood of disappointment.
To compensate, all pre-orders of Saints Row 4 collected from stores within 48 hours of release will receive a free Presidential Pack DLC code, a limited edition pack with masks and outfits to dress the boss as famous US presidents.
The potential Australian delay was first flagged over the weekend and looked likely to slip even further into September earlier this week.
