Sackboy: A Big Adventure now has four player co-op

Your little planet just got bigger with Sackboy multiplayer!

Sackboy: A Big Adventure now comes with the ability to play with up to four friends. Because what's better than one Sackboy? It's four different ones trying to annoy each other and fight over screen space.

Developer Sumo Digital broke down how multiplayer works over on the PlayStation Blog, saying that while the game was built as a single-player experience, you and up to three other friends can now complete the entire campaign together. That's not all though. If you are playing with friends, there are two new 'Teamwork Levels' in each of the five worlds. As you'd imagine, these levels prioritise coordination and cooperation to achieve a goal.

As is always the case with multiplayer platformers, there are insufferable ways to annoy and mess with your friends too, as you can slap, grab and roll into your teammates. This is always the part in these types of games where friendships are ended. Don't worry if you are the only one of your friends with a PlayStation 5 too. Multiplayer is confirmed to be cross-generational too.

Elsewhere, if multiplayer isn't your jam, what about upgrading from a PlayStation 4 to 5? This latest update now includes the functionality to transfer your save from console to console.

If you are looking for a cute way to make and potentially lose a bunch of friends this holiday period, this seems as good as a way as any.

Sackboy: A Big Adventure sees one of Sony's platforming icons finally back on our screens. The game, while playable on the PS4, has been billed as one of the PS5's launch titles making use of the next-generation console. It may not be the graphical powerhouse of some other games on the console but it plays around with many of the PS5's features from the impressive DualSense's haptic feedback to social and hint features.
