Rumour: Resident Evil 5 to have offline multiplayer up to 16 players? [Update]

If you look at hard at the Resident Evil 5 box art, you'll notice that in amongst all the specifics it says "system link 2-16 players."

Now whether this is just on the box as standard or if indeed you can link up your console with eight others from some offline action remains to be seen.

We have, of course, contacted Capcom for comment.
