Rollcage successor GRIP has come a long way in early access, new trailer shows off Full Kontakt soundtrack

GRIP is here to fill the Rollcage-shaped hole in your heart.

Everyone remembers the frictionless hover action of Wipeout, which even popped up in the movie Hackers, but the traction-heavy Rollcage is less well-remembered. And that's a damn shame - the Pysgnosis stablemate had its own unique feel, and one sequel wasn't enough. Luckily a pair of Attention to Detail veterans agree and got back together to make GRIP, a spiritual successor to Rollcage.

Having gone into Steam Early Access back in February 2016, GRIP is now much further along its journey to being The Best Game Ever (fingers crossed) with "more cars, tracks, modes, music, nicer UI and most importantly, much better physics", according to the developer. Online multiplayer is inbound pretty soon, too.

The trailer above shows off all this and gives you a taste of GRIP's soundtrack, provided by Full Kontakt. It takes me right back to that long summer spent hunched in front of the CRT, taking the game disc out of the PSOne and putting it in the CD player in my room when I got kicked out the living room. Pretty good stuff, I reckon.
