Rolando 3 canned because it wasn't "a free-to-play product", says ngmoco
ngmoco co-founder Neil Young has said Rolando 3 has been canned because it wasn't part of the developer's plans to make its games "free-to-play".
Speaking in an interview with IGN, he said: "When we made the decision to go free-to-play, we said to ourselves, 'Look -- if we can't make the game free-to-play, we're not going to release it.'
"And Rolando 3 as it was envisioned at that time was not a free-to-play product. So we've just taken the time to try to figure out how to do that franchise really effectively in free-to-play space," Young further added.
Rolandos 2 and 3 were confirmed at GDC last March, with the LocoRoco-like sequel releasing soon after in July 2009.
