Everspace, the rogue-like space shooter that mixes FTL with arcady space shooters of yore, has been given a release date on PC and Xbox One. This is the early access release date, as it's still a bit far from release.

Everspace will be available on Steam Early Access, GOG Games in Development, as well as Xbox Game Preview on Xbox One on September 14. The game will also be the first ever to launch with Microsoft's Windows 10 Preview through the Windows Store.

Because of this, Everspace is a Play Anywhere title. Meaning your saves and achievements carry over between Xbox One and Windows 10. You also get copies for both platforms whenever you purchase it on either.

At launch, the game will launch with six sectors players can go through. Developer Rockfish will add a showdown to the final sector shortly after. Two new ships will be added later this year.

The full release is scheduled for the first quarter of 2017. The plan is how have a full non-linear story, complete with voice-acted characters. VR support for both the Rift and Vive are also is also planned for launch.

Everspace will run you $30/€28/£23 when it launches in early access. The price will increase when it's time for the full release to be $40/€37/£30.
