A few weeks ago, I interviewed Seth Killian about his latest fighting game. What's particularly interesting about it is that it's taking a different approach to combos and special moves than most traditional fighting games. Rather than having a complex set of inputs required to execute a special move, all that's required is a simple press of a button.
Seth's objective is to make the nuts and bolts of learning to play the game as easy as possible, so that there's no months-long ramp-up to become an expert at the game. Instead, it's designed to be easy to pick up and play – yet still be as subtle and complex as any other fighting game.
Sounds too good to be true? Here's your chance to see for yourself whether or not this approach works. If you're interested in checking the game out, developer Radiant is currently accepting signups for a few hundred players. Not everyone is guaranteed to gain access to this technical alpha version of the game, but put it this way – the quicker you sign up, the better your chance of being able to play the game.
