Rising Storm 2: Vietnam takes the fight to the beach with Toy Soldier-themed DLC

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam has a new DLC available and it's toy-themed.  The game is also free to play this week.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam players can once again take on the role of green army men toys in the latest DLC.

Like the popular Christmas Green Army Men seasonal event, in the Green Army Men Beach Party, you participate in 64-player battles as the iconic miniature kid's toy.

The DLC was made possible by the Green Army Men Mod team, which made the mod easily available to all Rising Storm 2: Vietnam players. So that's who you have to thank for the fun DLC add-on being made available in the first place.

Here's a rundown on what to expect from the DLC:

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam players will beat the heat in this figurine beach bash with vehicles, supporting artillery, mortars, and rockets all turned into toys. The Green Army Men Beach Party DLC also removes fall damage, in order to create a more realistic experience, and includes multiple classes with over 12 weapons. Players can keep it cool on four maps: Beach Party, Backyard, Pool Party, and the returning Green Army Men Christmas map. Fight through sandcastles, building blocks, baseball bats, barbeques and more, all while avoiding getting melted by the enemy team.

Definitely give the video for the new content a watch, as it's rather neat seeing toys from your childhood in it. We spotted Lincoln Logs, those wooden building blocks, and Legos. There's also beach toys and your typical sea detritus such as seaweed and shells littering the map.

All players can grab the Green Army Men Beach Party for free as the Rifleman class. If players want to unlock more classes and support the development team, there is the option to buy the Green Army Men Upgrade, which unlocks all the other classes for Rising Storm 2: Vietnam – Green Army Men Beach Party.

All revenue from purchases is shared with the Green Army Men mod team.

Rising Storm 2: Vietnam is also free to play this week and on sale through Steam. You have until Tuesday, July 16 to play the game to your heart's content. The sale will go live later today when Steam updates around 1pm EDT.
