Riot launches new clubs social feature for League of Legends
The clubs social feature is now available in League of Legends.
Back in November, we heard about the new client update planned for 2016 that would include new tech, a slick interface, and new social features like Parties, Clubs, and the Friends mobile app.
Well the Clubs feature has launched, and you can find it in the social panel, taking the place of the 'chat rooms' button.
Clubs are geared at helping you find other like-minded humans to play with, and are created, organised, and controlled by players. When you join or create a club, you'll enter a persistent chat room. That means if you log out, it'll still be there.
Currently, there's a 49 player cap, but that's likely to expand. There will also be tools to manage rosters and moderate the club.
"There’s still a lot more to come from clubs, as this initial launch is just the foundation for updated and improved social features in League," says Riot. "Some of the visuals are still a little less polished than we’d prefer, but we think it’s important for you to get your hands on clubs now and we can clean things up over the next few patches."
If you're a League player, let us know what you think of the new club feature in the comments below.
