Rift has gone free-to-play, new content available for all

Today's the day, friends; fantasy MMORPG Rift is now free to play. Trion Worlds is determined to keep Rift fair for all players, whether they choose to pay or not - no restrictions on levels or content, and all the best items must be earned in-game, not bought in a shop. To get things off on the right foot, the developer has released the Empyreal Assault update which includes a stack of new content available to everybody - a new zone called Dendrome, a ten player raid, a Chronicle and open-world raid bosses.
