PS5-exclusive Returnal has been delayed to April

Originally slated for a March release, PS5-exclusive Returnal has been delayed to April.

Returnal was announced back in June and was to be available on March 19. Today, Sony announced a delay for the game.

According to the notice, Sony and Housemarque have made the decision to move the release date in order to "give the team extra time to continue to polish the game," to the level of quality players expect.

The new release date is April 30.

In the third-person, rouge-like shooter, you have crash-landed on a shape-shifting world. As Selene, you must search through the barren landscape of an ancient civilization for escape. Fighting for survival, she will be defeated and forced to restart her journey every time she dies.

The procedural world you will be exploring is hostile to human life and changes every time you die. You will need to manage equipment and resources carefully, because every time you die, you restart from the beginning. But on the plus side, you can scavenge alien tech for upgrades to enhance your abilities in future cycles.
