Retronauts Micro Looks Back on Our Favorite Years of Gaming

While we Retronauts try to remain impartial about nostalgia, if you listen to the show, you'll probably pick up on those years of gaming that meant the most to us.

So, for this episode of Retronauts Micro, I decided to make the implicit explicit and talk to some of our regular guests about the years of gaming they value the most. Note that we're in no way trying to pin down what years were most important for the industry itself; that's a subject for another episode. Instead, with this Micro, we're examining the circumstances that led to us enjoying video games more than we would ever enjoy them again. (And it should surprise no one that most of the years mentioned coincide with our first steps into independent adulthood.)

Our guests for this week are Henry Gilbert and Dave Rudden of the Laser Time Podcast Network, along with Ray Barnholt, who recently produced the great SCROLL magazine. And if you're wondering where this episode's musical selections came from, look no further than the soundtrack for the original Sims. That's a pleasant little collection of tunes that no one really talks about.
