If the attention given to The Evil Within is any indication, a lot of people still love and appreciate Shinji Mikami's best-known horror game: Resident Evil 4.
First released back in 2005, it marked a substantial leap forward for both third-person shooters and horror games. Resident Evil 4 was a technical marvel for its time, and it was also one of the generation's most memorable games. Everyone who's played Resident Evil 4 remembers the sound of that rusty chainsaw grinding to life. And who can forget the chainsaw controller?
Watch live video from usgamernet on www.twitch.tvResident Evil 4 is still a personal favorite of mine, so I thought it would be fun to relive the first couple hours on the occasion of The Evil Within's release (and, of course, the impending arrival of Halloween).
While I play, I'll be sharing my own memories from playing Resident Evil 4 on the GameCube, a few of my favorite moments, and some observations on just what makes it such a great game. Feel free to join me and share some of your own thoughts as well! I'll be kicking off the stream at 4pm PST/7pm EST on our Twitch channel.
As always, we stream on Tuesdays and Thursdays, with Thursdays being devoted to retro favorites along the lines of Resident Evil 4 (yes, Resident Evil 4 is officially retro now). If you want to keep tabs on our streams, please follow our channel. The full archive of previous streams can be found on our Youtube channel.
See you at 3pm!
