Resistance: Burning Skies showcased in TGS Vita keynote
At today's Tokyo Game Show keynote, it was revealed that there are 26 confirmed launch titles - and more than 100 in development. One of the supreme highlights: Resistance: Burning Skies - an all new Resistance game developed from the ground up just for PlayStation Vita.
Sure, we've seen it before, but we've now got a few extra tidbits just for you.
Taking the TGS stage, Shuhei Yoshida and Kissei Matsumoto from Sony proudly showed off what's been improved since we saw the game last. One highlight involved the new social features that have just been implemented - including the online community site My Resistance Net, complete with its own "Twitter-like" short message system.
The game itself, set in New York, sees American firefighters - equipped with fireman axes as well as the more standard firearms - battling the Chimera. An early scene showed what seemed to be the inside of a research facility, packed with the baddies - and it's your job to dispatch them.
Fortunately, technology's on your side. Touch the screen to 'mark' a Chimera, and then lob a hand grenade over to finish the job. Otherwise, use the shoulder buttons to shoot.
Resistance: Burning Skies will be out this December - as an exclusive launch title for the PlayStation Vita. We're expecting plenty more news about it before then.
