Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D gets Japanese release date, co-op
Your shiny new 3DS is nearly on your doorstep, but Face Raiders - while sure to send you down a slippery slope of giggles and tears far more effectively than you'd like to admit - will only last so long. You need something fresh. Something new. Something different.
Zombies really don't fit that bill. Like, at all. But hey, at least it's something.
Famitsu (via Andriasang) reports that Resident Evil: The Mercenaries 3D is lurching onto Japanese 3DSes on June 2. Meanwhile, Resident Evil's resident master of unlocking Jill Valentine received the spotlight treatment in this week's issue, as did sunglasses model and occasional mega-baddie, Wesker. Apparently, Jill's a more balanced character while Wesker's all about shooting everything that moves.
Happily, a local and online co-op variant - called "Duo Mode" - is also in the cards. So if you need big guns and unlocking versatility, just grab a friend.
We'll check-in with Capcom to see if it's narrowed down a US/EU release just yet, but even if it hasn't, we can't imagine it's too terribly far off.
