Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will commence filming in August
The sixth Resident Evil movie is back on track.
Resident Evil: The Final Chapter will begin filming in August, having been delayed to accomodate star Milla Jovovich's pregnancy.
In a Facebook post, Jovovich said she's currently being very mindful of gaining enough weight to ensure a healthy birth for her second child, without the risk of knocking filming further off schedule.
"I'm really proud of myself for not gaining the same amount of weight that I did with our first child (75 lbs.) because I have to be ready to start filming Resident Evil: The Final Chapter in August of this year," she said.
"I will also be nursing an infant simultaneously (get ready wardrobe department for Alice's new 'easy mama access' costume ) so I don't want to be on any extreme diets to get ready to go back to 'action hero' mode."
Jovovich plays Alice, a character created for the film series which is helmed by her partner Paul W.S. Anderson.
Final Chapter will be filmed in 3D. It's expected to be the last Resident Evil film either creative is involved with, although not necessarily the last one we'll ever see.
The Resident Evil movies have done pretty well at the box office (especially compared to other game adaptations), despite gamer dissatisfaction with the liberties taken with the game's canon.
