Resident Evil due for a "full-scale offensive" from Capcom this year
Capcom has big plans for Resident Evil this year.
Capcom published its earnings report for the full fiscal 2015 earlier today. In the report, the publisher revealed that we'll be seeing a lot more of the Resident Evil series during the new year.
This fiscal year ends March 31, 2017. According to Capcom, Resident Evil: Umbrella Corps, which releases in June, will just be a "warm up" for a "full-scale offensive" planned for the second half of the fiscal year.
It's not exactly clear what Capcom means by this. Outside of the already announced remasters for Resident Evil 4 and Resident Evil 5, no new Resident Evil games are due for release this year.
Though it's possible Capcom could be referring to an unannounced sequel, perhaps Resident Evil 7, it may just be a reference to the publisher's efforts in celebrating the series' 20th anniversary, also happening this year.
Umbrella Corps is an off-shoot based in the Resident Evil universe. It's due for release digitally on PC and PS4 June 21.
