Resident Evil composer's fraud "truly surprised" Capcom, publisher has no plans to sue

Capcom has said it doesn't plan to take any action against Onimusha: Warlords and Resident Evil: Dual Shock Version composer Mamoru Samuragochi, who recently confessed to having used a ghost writer for much of his career.

"We at Capcom were truly surprised by Samuragochi's recent admission," a Capcom representative told Eurogamer in a statement.

"However, as both soundtracks involved are no longer in circulation, we have no plans to take action of any kind."

Samuragochi confessed to using a ghost writer last week, ahead of Takashi Niigaki's magazine interview and press conference. Niigaki claimed that Samuragochi, who is know as the Japanese Beethoven, isn't hearing impaired; the composer responded by saying he had regained some intermittent hearing.

Thanks, Joystiq.
