Resident Evil 6 PC details won't be released for "some time"
Resident Evil 6 is coming to PC, but Capcom won't have any news to share for a while; the port is only in a fledgling state.
"It will be some time still before we provide details on release dates and PC specific parameters," Capcom USA senior vice president Svensson said on the Capcom Unity forum.
"The process did not begin until after the console versions were complete, submitted, approved by console first parties to use that final codebase as the starting point."
As Resident Evil 6 went gold towards the end of August, it's still very early days.
Additionally, Svensson said there'd been an internal change of plans regarding the port's development.
"It is a small, but appropriately sized team working on the Resident Evil 6 PC project. It is a different group than originally planned, lest it would have taken even longer than it currently will," he said.
"But this team will do a better job than what was being considered originally."
On a final note, Svensson said that PC ports are not "trival" affairs, and that Capcom has learned from its mistakes in this regard.
"When they get treated as trivial, you end up with Resident Evil 4 PC - which I don't think too many true fans were pleased with," he said.
Resident Evil 6 arrives on PlayStation 3 and Xbox 360 in November.
