Resident Evil 6 gets community service Resident Evil.net
Capcom has announced Resident Evil.net, a social service for Resident Evil 6 that sees friends competing and tracking progress.
Resident Evil.net was unveiled at Capcom's pre-Gamescom conference. Its a PC service - mobile browsers or apps haven't been confirmed yet - displaying information and stats on weapons use, enemies killed, friend's gameplay progress, Mercenaries high scores, real-time gameplay progress and more.
The community can also come together to unlock new in-game content, such as costumes by meeting objectives, such as collectively killing 10,000 zombies in a weekend.
There is also a currency called RE Points that are earned by playing via Resident Evil.net that can be spend on unlockable extras, minifigures and more.
Resident Evil.net also tracks your campaign progress and collates all mission files and story points you encounter so you can go back and read them later.
It's a free service and will be available at the launch of Resident Evil 6 in early October.
