Resident Evil 3 physical copies could be delayed in Europe
If you're interested in a physical copy of Resident Evil 3 in Europe, you may not find one to buy at launch.
Capcom has warned that some Resident Evil 3 orders of the game's physical version could face delays in Europe, as a result of the coronavirus lockdown.
The publisher stressed that the game's release date of April 3 has not changed, only that discs may not be available as readily as expected. "We are closely following official regulations to ensure we are prioritising the safety of our fans, employees and partners," Capcom UK said in a Tweet.
"As such, we are in frequent communication with our local distribution and retail partners in each market to make copies available once import local conditions allow. Please check with your local retailers for further updates regarding individual orders and availability of Resident Evil 3 physical copies and collector's editions.
"We will do our best to keep you updated on major changes, and thank you for your patience."
This statement is very similar to Square Enix's, who's also running into a similar problem with Final Fantasy 7 Remake. For now, digital appears to be the guaranteed way to get a copy on release day, though even that is running into its own problems with PSN throttling download speeds as internet usage spikes worldwide.
