Resident Evil 2 Remake gets first-person mod

We may not yet have a functioning fixed camera mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake, but you can play it in first-person right now using this new mod.

Resident Evil 2 Remake is an exclusively third-person game, but series fans have had a taste of what first-person horror looks like with Resident Evil 7, so you can bet some are already trying to turn Remake into a first-person game.

These efforts are still in their infancy, but creator Praydog has released an early version of a working first-person mod for Resident Evil 2 Remake. It's more of a hack than a mod at this stage, but it will let you play the game in the first-person perspective.

Still, this version is rough, and the camera sometimes refuses to stick to first-person, but it's a start. Because the game wasn't designed with that perspective in mind, the camera may move around unnecessarily, which may cause motion sickness for some folks.

In other words, expect a lot of camera shaking and head pop. The mod does, however, feature an FOV slider, which will hopefully lessen some of these effects. Beyond that, the weapons will be displayed at a weird angle, once again because the game wasn't built for it. It's sort of like a worse version of GTA 5's first-person mode.

You can see it in action below in Sticky's video, or head to the Github link above to grab it.
