Resident Evil 2 gets co-op in this Unreal Engine rebuild

Resident Evil 2 is probably next in line for an HD remake, but the fanbase just can't wait.

Rod Lima's Resident Evil 2 recreation project has been in the works for over a year. His goal was to learn how to use Epic's Unreal Development Kit rather than do an HD remake or whatever, so what he's done is pull assets from the original, and then put them back together in UDK, teaching himself how to script a game in the process.

The recreation is now nearly complete, and looks pretty great. It sticks with the fixed cameras of the original, but includes a co-op mode. Take a look:

In other modding news, someone wants to put Resident Evil's original, terrible voice acting back.
