Report: Nintendo World 3DS players suffered side-effects

Reports from last week's Nintendo World event, the largest hands-on 3DS event since E3 2010, include troubling accounts of prevalent dizziness and eye fatigue.

Japanese magazine Friday claims that a "majority" of players experienced unpleasant symptoms after or during use of the 3DS's stereoscopic 3D feature.

Friday spoke to a number of players who said they'd switched to 2D visuals within a few minutes of beginning play after suffering minor dizziness.

Half of those interviewed reported fatigued eyes, although some commented that holding the 3DS still can help mitigate strain.

Friday's feature seems to be a lone voice among generally positive reception from Japanese press. The magazine is well-known for paparazzi exposure of celebrity scandal.
