Report - Langdell set to lose Edge trademarks

Following this week's news that Edge Games' injunction against EA over the use of the word 'Edge' was thrown out, it looks like boss Tim Langdell is set to lose the rest of his Edge-related trademarks.

According to GI, a US judge is reviewing a final judgement submitted by EA, which may see Langdell lose his other trademarks he used to claim ownership of the word.

Edge Games has also apparently signed off on the papers, which includes a clause whereby agreeing to it will not "constitute a concession or admission of, or evidence of, any fault or wrongdoing by any party."

If green-lit, the trademarks Langdell registered that would be canceled would be 'edge', 'cutting edge', 'edge' again, 'the edge' and 'gamer's edge'.

The judgement also states that each party, EA and Edge, "shall bear its owns costs and fees in this matter," meaning neither of the two companies would have to cover each other's legal expensives.

But despite all that, Langdell may still yet face legal and criminal action for frauding the USPTO as well as reparation attempts from companies he threatened, such as MobiGames, who released the iPhone game Edge.
