Report: L.A. Noire helped UK retail pull in £24 million last week

It looks as though L.A. Noire helped out the UK games retail market with its release, as £24 million was taken in by stores last week.
According to MCV, this is the highest figure for retail since the first week of 2011, and it is estimated that L.A. Noire pulled in the lion's share in just two days with £10 million in sales.
If accurate, it would make the title the one of the most successful new IP launched in the history of UK games retail.
GfK Chart-Track also reported that L.A. Noire’s debut was in line with Red Dead Redemption's last year, which was the fourth best selling game of the year for the UK.
Two weeks ago, it was reported that 573,506 games were sold at retail so far for 2011, which is the lowest in five-years.
