Report - Kinect only works standing up [Update]
Update: Microsoft's Aaron Greenberg has rubbished these claims on Twitter, saying "Yes you can sit or stand with Kinect, depends on the game or experience."
Original: Kinect users aren't going to be lazy gamers, since that you can only use the new motion device when standing up, apparently.
According to a report from IGN, developers are saying "right now, Kinect only works when you stand."
Even though this seems obvious when you think back to all the demos shown so far, one of the biggest surprises, and perhaps the one that would have enticed the hardcore is that this includes menu navigation.
According to the site: "All the cool options to grab a slider and advance through frames of a movie you are watching only work when you are on your feet."
Here's a snip:
"Kinect, we've been told, has problems handling your skeletal frame while sitting. The voice commands still work, but every game we've seen and even simple menu navigation has to be done with you out of your seat."
We have asked Microsoft to comment.
