Report - Gamestop trialling Skylanders toy trade-ins

Some Gamestop outlets are reportedly accepting trade-ins on used Skylanders toys.

Pixelitis reports Gamestop outlets participating in the trial will give cash or store credit for Skylanders figurines.

The figures vary in trade-in value as well as selling price, so don't expect to pick up a rare on the cheap; the collectible toys fetch extravagant prices through online auctions and Gamespot will likely tailor its prices to match. Although no official pricing details have emerged, Pixelitis claims to have hold of a memo which shows uncommons being sold for twice the shelf price of a new figure.

Skylanders: Spyro's Adventures has a unique gimmick which brings toys to life as characters in-game; it released last year on multiple platforms and was one of the holiday season's best selling toy lines. The figures continue to sell out at retail.
