Report - Creative Assembly creating Olympics title

Eurogamer's reporting that the sports title that Total War developer Creative Assembly is working on, revealed yesterday via a job listing, is a Olympics title on London 2012.

The game, developed by its Australian arm in Brisbane for consoles and PC, is said to be released in time for the start of the games in two years time.

Sega, CA's parent company, has released several Olympic tie-ins in recent years for Beijing and the most recent Winter Olympics in Vancouver, with special collaborations as well with Nintendo on the Sonic & Mario at the Olympics series.

Yesterday, though, the discovery of the project led to speculation that Creative Assembly was making a console version of Football Manager, but Sports Interactive's Miles Jacobson moved swiftly to debunk that rumour.

"There are some brilliant rumours going round today that Creative Assembly Oz are working on FM for consoles," he said in a tweet. "The rumours are false."

He went on to add in a further tweet: "We love CA Oz & UK like the brothers that they are, & will continue to knowledge share & tech share with them, but that's as far as it goes."

Sega issued a no response to EG on the subject.
