Report: Comet parent company interested in GAME's UK arm
The Financial Times (via MCV) is reporting this morning that OpCapita, the company who acquired UK electronics consumer Comet for £2 last year, is eyeing up a move for the UK side of GAME.
Retail restructuring company Hilco is thought to be looking at its international arm, as the UK is not of interest to it.
Its been rumoured previously that US retailer GameStop had been a potential buyer of the company, with reports suggesting it was interested in taking over GAME's Iberian arm, including stores in Spain and Portugal.
GAME was reported to have put itself up for sale yesterday, which was followed by a sharp price drop in shares. Share prices have since rallied back this morning, according to MCV.
