Renegade Kid in talks with publisher to bring existing game to 3DS
Indie dev Renegade Kid has said it's in talks with a publisher about converting an existing game for 3DS.
The project's current codename is known as "Planet," with studio boss Jools Watsham saying a deal for it to be signed is, "in theory," close to happening.
"Right now, we’re in heavy get-new-projects mode. There is one 3DS title that we’re in talks about with a publisher," said Watsham on his blog.
"It is a really cool game. It would be a conversion of an existing title, which we would bring to the 3DS. Let’s call it code-named 'Planet'. In theory, we’re very close to signing this deal with the publisher. But, anything can happen in the world of business, so all we can do is hope everything stays its course and we sign it soon."
Watsham said he was also talking to publishers about value titles for DS, and has also been looking at interest about a DSiWare version of Maximillian and the Rise of the Mutant Mudds, although there hasn't been as much interest as he was hoping for.
"This is sad, but also exactly why we asked for votes; to help us gauge whether development of the game would be financially wise or not," said Watsham. "Honestly, if we can't scrounge up at least 1,000 votes in one month, it's a fair sign that there aren't enough people out there interested in the game, DSiWare, or both."
Thanks, Joystiq.
