Remedy's head of franchise development Oksari Hakkinen has said the firm is using its latest iDevice game, Death Rally, as a "fun test case" for future development.

Speaking with Eurogamer, Hakkinen said working with iPhone and iPad will give the firm practice in case it decides to "utilize the mobile screen" in it's future "console projects."

"The iPad and iPhone are obviously platforms that have gotten a lot of recognition lately and as developers it's our job to be interested and investigate new and important platforms," he said. "Death Rally just turned out to be a natural fit."

Death Rally was the first game created by Remedy,  and it's slated for release in March.

Remedy is currently at work on a  triple-A project for Xbox 360, which uses the “next iteration of Remedy’s unique game engine that was previously used in Alan Wake", and the game will supposedly use Kinect.

The untitled game was first mentioned in October, and while it is assumed to be Alan Wake 2,  Remedy has yet to confirm it despite  saying that it wants to do a sequel.
