Red Dead Redemption 2 release date seemingly confirmed by Polish retailer
Retailer backtracks after Red Dead Redemption 2's release date hits the news.
Red Dead Redemption 2 was officially announced in October last year for PS4 and Xbox One and since the trailer dropped we've learned that PS4 players will get “first access to earn select online content” and that we can expect “incredible emotional depth” from the story.
PC players are already petitioning to have the game brought to their platform.
But there's been no word of an release date yet, other than autumn 2017, so when Polish retailer Media Markt seemingly confirmed an October release date, Reddit was all over it.
The website's pre-order page for the game listed the release date as Octboer 3, and was spotted by Polish site CD-Action. They reached out to Media Markt and were told them that the game's distributor had passed on the date to them.
"I would like to inform you that our marketing department was informed by distributor of the game that its airing date is 3rd of October 2017," was the email response, translated by Reddit user Adakam8323.
Shortly after the news hit, PR manager for Media Markt, Wioletta Batóg, emailed CD-Action stating that there is no confirmed release date, and that the Media Markt team member who sent the previous email was mistaken, while the date on the product page has been changed back to the December 31 placeholder.
