Red Dead Online Poker - Private Game, Tips to Win, Matchmaking

Poker has now been added to Red Dead Online. Here’s everything you need to know.

Red Dead Online, the online component of Red Dead Redemption 2, has just made its way out of open beta. As such, Rockstar is starting to add in more and more features for players to enjoy, and it has just added a stone-cold fan favorite. Poker is now available in Red Dead Online, allowing you to bluff your way to victory against other Red Dead Online players. It works largely in the same way as in the base game, but there are a few notable differences. In this Red Dead Online Poker Guide, we’ll be running through everything you need to know to get started. We’ll take a look at some Red Dead Online Poker Tips to help you win, and look at hosting a private game.

Red Dead Online Poker

Poker was added to Red Dead Online on May 14, as part of an update to bring the game out of beta testing. It can be triggered at various saloons around the map, or from the mission start menu. To start a Poker game, simply walk into a Saloon which has the Poker icon on it, and make your way to the table. From here you can buy into a Public game, which will throw you into matchmaking with other players. This will get you into a game quickly, and you’ll be able to buy in at the next available hand.

Red Dead Online Poker Tips

Playing poker in Red Dead Online can be a good way to make some easy money, if you’re able to win that is. Generally, you’ll be able to apply regular poker strategies, though there are some tips that we’d give for Red Dead Online Poker specifically.

  • It’s a major advantage that there are no poker faces in Red Dead Online.
  • You can afford to be bold in Red Dead Online Poker. Buy-ins are usually 25 bucks, so being aggressive is often a great tactic here.
  • You can review the rules before playing in the options menu.
  • If you’re not having much luck, don’t be afraid to walk away and matchmake to another table. There are literally hundreds of others out there.

Red Dead Online Poker Private Games

If you’d like to play Poker with a group of friends, you’ll want to head into a Private Game. You can do so just before joining a game. Walk into a bar that has a Poker table, and hold square/X to host a private game. You can invite friends at this point to play with people you know, with monetary rewards and buy-in values all customizable.
