If you want to find one of the most dangerous legendary animals in all of Red Dead Online, you'll need to find the Emerald Wolf, a huge predator that lurks in the forests of south Ambarino. We'll show you the legendary Emerald Wolf's location below, with a guide on how to proceed once you find it.

Legendary Emerald Wolf Location in Red Dead Online

The legendary Emerald Wolf's location in Red Dead Online is not around the Emerald Ranch, as you might expect, but some way North of that, in the Grizzlies East, North-West of O'Creagh's Run and South of the hypothetical "O" in Ambarino. We've marked the location on the map below, and you'll be glad to know there's no specific weather or conditions that occur once you get there. However, if you're still having trouble finding it, check this guide here for possible solutions.

How to Hunt the Emerald Wolf

Whether you plan to sedate or kill the Emerald Wolf, hunting it can be a challenge. It has a lot of health either way and is an incredibly aggressive predator, able to kill the player in a couple of attacks. It's behaviour is somewhat similar to the Wakpa Boar, in that it charges at you with intent to kill, but rather than charge in a straight line, the Emerald Wolf takes a serpentine, zigzagging path to make it harder to shoot. Combined with its high speed and the amount of foliage that can obscure it, and it can be quite hard to kill this deadly monster before it kills you. Try to sneak up on it for some early ambush shots, and use natural geography to attack it from safety. When in doubt, climb up on a rock and stay out of the reach of its jaws.

Spare or Skin the Emerald Wolf?

We suggest that you'd be better off sampling and studying the Emerald Wolf for the Naturalist experience, as to our knowledge there is no outfit that Gus can craft from it. Instead make an effort to study it while it's conscious, then sedate the thing with about 10 rounds of sedative ammo and take a sample to sell to Harriet. Remember to take a photo too if you have the Advanced Camera for that extra XP.

There's all sorts more Red Dead content for you to enjoy here at USG. Mike's review of Red Dead Redemption 2 is waiting here, or check out what strange clowning was happening prior to the Naturalist update right here.
