SWAT spiritual successor Ready or Not gets release target, detailed gameplay video

Ready or Not has debuted an impressive first look at gameplay.

Ready or Not was revealed about a year ago as a modern take on the classic SWAT series. Developed by Void Entertainment, Ready or Not is a tactical shooter modelled on real-world SWAT tactics, and realistic situations.

Playable solo, co-op, or online against other players, the game offers a wide array of options when dealing with each situation. Unlike something like Rainbow Six Siege, shooting is only part of the equation. You'll have access to plenty of non-lethal tools that'll help you apprehend suspects.

The developer says it consulted with real-world police teams to create as realistic of a representation as possible. This also includes modelling bullet damage, armour, penetration, ricochet and so on.

The new trailer, which you can watch below, confirms a Q4 2020 release target. The official site is currently taking pre-orders on a $40 standard edition, and a $120 supporter version. Both include access to the beta, due to kick off in June next year, but only the supporter grants access to an alpha test taking place this August.
