Rainbow Six Siege's recently added anti-cheat tech banned 3,800 offenders already
The fight against cheaters in Rainbow Six Siege continues, and the latest weapon used by developers seems to be doing its job very well.
Rainbow Six Siege received a pretty big update very recently with the release of Operation Skull Rain add-on.
Among the many improvements that came with the patch was a new anti-cheat system to go along with FairFight, the game's previously only method of catching cheaters. This new system is called BattlEye and it has already resulted in the ban of 3,800 cheaters.
BattlEye is a type of preventive anti-cheat protection that can sometimes ban offenders in real time. Ban waves that take longer to go into effect can still happen, but only a few bans take a few days at most.
"We are continuously working with BattlEye through frequent updates in order to improve the detection of cheats. This will make a big difference in the long run," said the game's technical architect.
Players have responded positively to these changes. So much so that the game's daily number of players is higher now than it was at launch.
