Rainbow Six Siege teaser is the first official hint at Y4S1's Australian theme
Ubisoft has started teasing the theme of the next Rainbow Six Siege location, and operators.
Rainbow Six Siege's Year 4 of content has yet to officially kick off. Despite Ubisoft already selling a Year 4 pass, we've yet to get any news about the new operators or maps planned.
So far this year, the game received a balance patch, but that's about it. With the Six Invitational fast approaching, it's about time we started getting some hints about what's in store for the first season, which we definitely had this week.
The official Rainbow Six Siege Twitter account shared this GIF of a kangaroo crossing sign, with the title G’day. This is obviously a massive, not-so-subtle tease that Year 4 Season 1 will be set in Australia.
Ubisoft typically debuts two operators from the same country with each season. New seasons also launch with a new map, set in the same country. This theme ties into the operators' origin, training, or jobs in their respective countries' counter-terrorist units.
This week's teaser indicates that one or both of the two Season 1 operators will be Australian, but this isn't exactly news to the game's most hardcore followers.
About a month ago, a post on Reddit leaked an image of the two Y4S1 operators. It was a single, small, blurry shot showing the pair with an Australian flag, but that was enough to get people talking.
The majority of the details about their gadgets - the thing players are most curious about - have yet to leak. Though there have been musings on ResetEra at around the same time as the Reddit leak, those remain unconfirmed.
The official Season 1 reveal takes place on Sunday, February 17 at the Six Invitational. Until then, however, expect many more hints about the map, operators, and even their gadgets to follow on social media.
