Rainbow Six Siege team killers are at the mercy of the auto-kick feature

Griefers gonna grief - but not for long.

Rainbow-Six-Siege-Hostage

The first patch for Rainbow Six Siege went live today across all platforms, fixing bugs and making tweaks here and there to make sure we're all having a jolly good time.

In an effort to quash instances of bad times, the update is clamping down on those who prefer to play games of silly buggers as opposed to saving hostages and whatnot.

The auto-kick feature should reduce team killing, using "parameters that will cause an automatic kick of a griefer within a match."

Obviously, accidents do happen, as Ubisoft acknowledges, but they have stated that they're trying their best "to make the distinction between accidental team killing and intentional team killing. Same goes for intentional hostage killing while playing as Defender. We will be tracking if the auto-kick feature reduces intentional team killing instances and will be adjusting the rigor of the parameters accordingly."

The issue was initially flagged in the open beta with 1.3% of matches being affected by griefing at the start, rising to 7.8% by the end. Since launch, the problem has been less prevalent, being measured at 1.8%, so it will be interesting to see whether the new auto-kick feature will discourage any mischief makers.

Rainbox Six Siege is available now on PS4, Xbox One, and PC.
