Rainbow Six Siege Para Bellum patch finally brings PS4 Pro, Xbox One X support
Rainbow Six Siege's Operation Para Bellum has gone live on the TTS, and with it, confirmation of most of what's coming.
Everything Rainbow Six Siege players will get on June 5, which is when Operation Para Bellum officially launches, is available now on test servers.
The update obviously includes Alibi, and Maestro, the two new operators, which were officially revealed over the weekend. There's also the new Villa map, set in Italy.
Outside of the new content, the update will finally enhance the game for PS4 Pro, and Xbox One X owners. Rainbow Six Siege's resolution will increase to 1440p on PS4 Pro, and 1728p on Xbox One X. The render scale will remain at 50% (meaning it's not native), but Ubisoft is currently working on a system that'll dynamically change the render scale depending on game performance.
As ever, 60fps is the target in multiplayer, and this patch won't change that.
As is the case with every major Rainbow Six Siege update, there's a host of balance changes for operators and maps. The highlight is the Club House map buff, which aims to remove the high-risk, low-reward situations defenders found themselves in often.
Operator speed is being changed across the board, to make the stat something players consider when picking an operator. Echo is getting a buff in the form of an increase to the number of Yokai drones she can carry.
The new patch introduces the pick and ban system, which makes the selection process more tactical, and takes inspiration from MOBAs and other competitive games.
The UI is seeing an update to the observation tool to make it easier to navigate the various cameras and drones players can control, and easily flip between them.
On the cosmetics ends, the update brings a new elite skin for Thatcher, and several new weapon skins paying tribute to "Italian artisanship of weapon fabbrikas."
The update should go live on June 5 for all players, and you can read the full change log at the official site.
