Rainbow Six Siege Outbreak gameplay is tactical Left 4 Dead

Comparisons between Rainbow Six Siege's Outbreak and Left 4 Dead may be inevitable, but it's the gameplay footage that really illustrates why.

After weeks of teasers that ended with a the reveal of the monster types, Ubisoft finally gave everyone what they want at the Rainbow Six Invitational this weekend.

That being; gameplay footage of Siege's Outbreak co-op mode. Ubisoft not only showed a decent chunk of Outbreak gameplay on stage, it also allowed the press to capture their own footage. If you read our preview from earlier, you'll know why Outbreak is like Left 4 Dead.

This isn't just because it's co-op against zombies/monsters, but the flow of Outbreak in clearing room after room before reaching a safe house, resupplying and then heading back out is very much reminiscent of Left 4 Dead. Outbreak only supports three players, and that's where things start to diverge.

Outbreak features objectives not unlike what you find in PvP, such as escorting hostages and planting explosives. In the gameplay below, we get see two maps and two sets of operators.

The first is the official demo Ubisoft gave at the Six Invitational. This round doesn't show any of the bigger monsters, but it does show the early game with Tachanka, Smoke, and Buck. See the archive below, via MathChief.
