See Rainbow Six Siege's 2 new Burnt Horizon operators in action
Rainbow Six Siege will soon add two new operators to its big roster with the launch of operation Burnt Horizon.
Burnt Horizon is the first DLC drop in Rainbow Six Siege's Year 4 of content, bringing with it a new map, and two new Australian operators.
Ubisoft recently revealed a little bit about their backgrounds, and at the Six Invitational over the weekend, showed off how they're actually going to play for the first time.
Gridlock, the attacker, is capable of deploying small traps called Trax Stingers. She can put down several of these, and they're intended to lock angles that might be used by roaming and rotating defenders. As you might've guessed, if the small damage they do doesn't get you, the sound you make while destroying them will alert others to your location.
The damage itself is minimal, at only 10hp per trap, but they also slow down defenders unlucky to get caught in them. Each canister expands into several traps when deployed, but you can halt this by shooting it before it deploys the full load. Unlike most throwables, Gridlock's Trax Singers can't be stopped by Yager's ADS.
Keeping with the meta shakeup, Mozzie is a defender who can control attacker drones. Using his Pest Launcher, Mozzie is able to capture attacker drones and use them to his team's advantage. The gadget can capture any drone, including Twitch's.
Once a drone is under Mozzie's control, it can be used anywhere in the map, but he won't be able to take it out of bounds. More interestingly, he can hide his Pest around a corner to catch an attacker's drone, meaning he doesn't have to aim the launcher physically. Captured drones will be highlighted for defenders, but attackers will have to look a little closer at the blue LEDs (compared to red by default) to be able to tell them apart.
IQ's scanner can detect these hacked drones, and Dokkaebi can hack the drone's feed back, but not regain control. In other words, you can subtly use it to spy on defenders if they parked the drone somewhere good.
