Rain World alpha footage shows Slugcat pups as Kickstarter comes to a close
Rain World developers Joar Jakobsson and James Primate have released a new trailer from the game's alpha build, this time showing off some frolicking Slugcat pups bounding across a post-apocalyptic city.
The clip shows a player ferrying the Slugcat pups over lethal gaps and away from hungry predators. It comes as the Rain World Kickstarter campaign ticks down with only 64 hours left. It has made $51,824, comfortably smashing its $25,000 goal.
Jakobsson a Primate posted a new update on the pups over on Kickstarter. They wrote, "The introduction of the pups makes an already difficult game even more challenging. Not only do you have to worry about your own hide, but now you must feed, shelter and protect one or more mischievous little young slugcats. And as you have no doubt seen, Rain World is not a forgiving environment."
It's really not. We discussed Rain World's harsh industrial landscape, conception and development in my interview last month. Check it out to get a music sampler from the game, along with screens and details.
Thankfully, the pups can also defend themselves with projectiles like sticks and rocks, and they can climb around to escape threats when needed. They sound like they're going to be a real handful.
What do you think of Rain World so far?
