R2 Studios boss joins Microsoft

Microsoft has confirmed reports of its acquisition of R2 Studios, a home entertainment and automation start-up. R2 (and Slingbox) founder Blake Krikorian has been named Microsoft's corporate vice president for its Interactive Entertainment Business. GamesIndustry has quotes from both parties expressing their mutual delight in the arrangement. Microsoft is said to have snaffled all R2's patents and technologies as part of the acquisition.
