Quantic Dream, Jonathan Blow and Gameforge join GDC Europe 2011

GDC Europe 2011 organisers have announced three more high-profile talks for the mid-August event.

Quantic Dream co-CEO Guillaume de Fondaumiere will give a presentation in the business and marketing track, according to a post on the conference's website.

Called Game Content Rating Systems Must Change, de Foundaumiere's talk will argue that games ratings standards like those of PEGI and the ESRB apply stricter standards than those of other media like film and TV.

Braid creator Jonathan Blow will also attend, giving a suitable esoteric speech on Truth in Game Design, in which, I kid you not, he will contend that "games, being algorithmic systems implemented on computers, are biased toward revealing truth, so long as we do not quash the truth in order to force our own high-level wishes into the design". That sounds suitably mad; I wish I could go.

Finally, Martin Nerurkar of Gameforge, Europe's leading free-to-play company, will talk Big Bucks for Bits and Bytes - A Holistic Approach to Selling Virtual Goods. Since Gameforge is raking in big bucks, this is one a lot of industry types should probably pay attention to.

GDC Europe 2011 runs from August 15 to 17 in Cologne, and features an impressive line-up.
