Putting Mass Effect on iPhone was a "mistake", says BioWare
BioWare co-founder Greg Zeschuk has said putting Mass Effect Galaxy on the iPhone was a "mistake".
Speaking in a recent interview with Videogamer, Zeschuk said valuable lessons had been learned from the games release following the feedback received.
"Maybe it wasn't even a mistake as much as we took a guess, our guess was wrong, and we learned something in the process - that the fundamental tactile gameplay is actually the key thing on the platform," he said, concluding that "it was very worth doing".
Zeschuk explained although Bioware may not develop any more games for the platform in the future, it will look into other types of apps, such as those which link to its games in some way.
"We still poke around on it. At some level we're leaving the expertise on the iPhone to the folks who are experts," he added.
"We'll explore stuff. For us, it may be things that link into other games. It's the cross-platform nature of the potential platform, like an iPhone app able to somehow access one of the other games' universes, or something. That would be really cool."
Mass Effect Galaxy is currently available on iPhone for £1.19.
Thanks, DS.
