PUBG: watch gameplay of the Mini-14, the new town of Kameshki, and the terrifying foggy weather

The most recent PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds patch has been out on test servers for long enough that we can finally get a proper look at the biggest new additions.

The Battlegrounds September patch's many additions include the new Mini-14 weapon - a 5.56mm DMR, a new town east of Stalber called Kameshki, the new foggy weather, and quite a few more gameplay additions.

Naturally, everyone wants to see how the weapon performs first, which is exactly what the videos below from ThesaurusPG, and Bl0odwork do. The Mini-14 has a relatively high rate-of-fire, and seems pretty accurate. It takes sniper attachments for the magazine and barrel, but doesn't have room for a foregrip, not that it's going to need it.

The standard magazine holds 20 rounds, whereas the extended/extended quickdraw can hold 30. From the footage, it sounds and performs like a self-loading rifle from Battlefield 1, only it's a lot more accurate. The addition of the Mini-14 is interesting, as it basically means both 5.56mm and 7.62mm have enough assault rifles and DMRs to balance each other out, even if it means the former has more options.

That said, the 7.62mm family could use a less accurate, high rate-of-fire rifle, though it may easily dethrone the Groza and make less enticing as a drop.

In both videos, the advantages and disadvantages of the new foggy weather conditions are pretty clear. People are impossible to see past around 100 meters, and even the ones close by could easily blend in with the environment if they're prone, thanks to the extra layer of fog that covers the ground. Even in third-person, spotting players is hard.

In Castor McCree's video below, we get to see where the town is located in the map with relation to the Stalber outpost. We also get a short tour of buildings in there and the type of loot they hold.

From the players' impressions on Reddit, Kameshki seems to have a decent chance of good loot. Its location, though, and the apparent lack of car spawns, means that you're likely going to be running for a while to be able to reach the next circle. With how rare the circle ends in the north/north-east, this is practically a given. Still, you can always land near a car spawn at the start and drive there like you do with other coastal cities.

The September patch is expected to launch for everyone later this week.
