An underground cave system, new vehicles and weapons are in the works for PUBG's Savage map
PUBG's developer has big plans for the game's Savage 4x4km map.
Now that the second testing phase for PUBG's Savage has concluded, developer PUBG Corp. decided to share another look at some of the inspirations behind the setting and some of the locations in the map.
The team previously revealed photos from a trip to Southeast Asia and how some real-world locations have been recreated in Savage, but this week's blog post reveals something more exciting than aesthetic choices.
One part of the map, which has not yet been added, is basically a big hole in the ground. This hole leads to an underground cave system, and you're able to drop there right at the start.
The cave has multiple exists, but the interesting part is definitely dropping from the plane into the hole and not on the surface like most people around you.
Beyond these additions, PUBG Corp. is also working on thematically-appropriate vehicles, such as Tuk Tuks, which will be available on Savage at some point.
Tuk Tuks provide cheap means of transportation for millions in crowded Southeast Asian cities, so it makes for them to be here.
Savage is also getting its own weapons, which is another thing players are looking forward to. Outside of the universal choices like the M416, K98 etc, each of the game's maps so far has unique weapons, such as the Win94 on Miramar.
