PUBG banned 13 million cheaters since June last year
Over the past 69 weeks, more than 13 million PlayerUnknown's Battlegrounds cheaters were banned.
PUBG has had ongoing struggles with cheating since it exploded in popularity in the second half of last year.
To its credit, developer PUBG Corp. has been attacking the problem from multiple angles. Though it continues to work with third-party services like BattleEyemy, the developer has also been developing its own anti-cheat tech, which debuted on live servers with patch 22.
The number of cheaters PUBG Corp. has banned is staggering, though. Since June 16, 2017, over 13 million accounts were given the boot. That's according to PUBG Corp.'s own data, as revealed on the game's Cafe page.
As gathered by Reddit user Sjk045, the numbers show weekly bans, with over 300,000 each week. There's even a list of all banned accounts if you want to dig in.
And those are just the permanent bans, as temporary bans aren't included in these particular stats.
The good news is that the numbers are dropping, with less than 100,000 bans this week - well below most other weeks and the first, since week 25, that the tally dropped below 100,000.
But it's also worth keeping in mind that PUBG's concurrent player numbers are the lowest they've ever been since the big growth seen last year. The low number of bans is likely the result of both factors.
