PSA: Rock Band 3 now available in the US with three free Doors tracks
Rock Band 3 hits North America today, and those prepping their fingers for the new Pro Mode and keyboards can start by downloading The Doors’ “Light My Fire,” “Riders on the Storm” and “Touch Me” for free.
The three-pack of The Doors’ songs is available for free to fans that purchase Rock Band 3 and play online during the first week of launch until November 1, and it "incorporates five-button guitar and bass, Drums, Pro Drums and Keys, Pro Keys and harmonies, where applicable, as well as a free expansion that will add Pro Guitar and Pro Bass parts".
As previously announced, there's also an additional nine-pack of Doors songs available today for purchase and soon, new downloadable tracks from Billy Joel, John Lennon and Bon Jovi will also be made available.
The Rock Band site has also had an overhaul to coincide with the launch of the game's third iteration, although it doesn't seem to be live yet as of this post.
Early next year, Harmonix will also release the Rock Band 3 Squier by Fender Stratocaster Guitar Controller, which is a full-sized, six-string electric guitar/game controller and it's compatible with Rock Band 3 Pro Mode. Neato.
Reviews for the game have been really positive so far, so if you're into the music game genre, you may wish to check it out.
If you Rock Band 2 and would like to know how to export songs from those games into RB3, RockBandAide has you covered on the details, but it will cost you a one-time-fee of $10 to do the exporting.
Five songs from RB2 will not be exportable, and neither will nine songs from Harmonix bands.
The game hits Europe on October 30 for DS, Ps3, Wii, and Xbox 360.
